Ever since I became a screenwriter, I have taught other screenwriters the same lesson;

The first thing that a producer will do, is change something about your screenplay... no matter how good your original writing is.

The first change in my screenplay about street fighting gamblers:

"Let's change the title from 'Slug Mavericks' to just 'Mavericks'."

Great! That way, everybody will think that I wrote a screenplay about Sarah Palin!!

It's the same as it was five years ago, when I pulled out of it... the same as it was 10 years ago, when my friend quit writing because of it... the same as it was 25 years ago, when another friend was kicked out of it....

Got two jobs now.

Tons of producers have seen my teleplays, and they have all said the exact same thing;

"I really love this!! Let me see if I can finance it!"

...then nothing.

I'm about to punch a REALLY BIG HOLE in the "standard" wall.

On the plus side, I can FINALLY buy health insurance, now that our glorious presedent has made it a law.

I am SO GLAD that he spent the last 14 months making this law for me to be able buy health insurance.

I'll be able to tell my grandchildren about the years when no Americans could buy health insurance until the great Obama made it a law that we could finally buy health insurance.

How is it possible that we are the worlds most obese nation?

Government Statistic (paid for with my taxes):
"Nearly 80% of American children are obese. It is an epidemic."

Russian Experiments

On the happy side, I have two teleplays bouncing around Hollywood. Not sold yet, but cross yer fingers.

On the happier side, I bought a 1946 Russian 5x7 View camera. Well, it's a tad bigger than a 5x7 (Russian measurements), but 5x7 fits. This thing is so retro, that it doesn't even have a shutter. You have to take the cap off and put it back on to expose the film.

The title, on the front plate reads;
"Experimental Photo Mechanical Factory"

It might be a prototype.

It's wooden.

The rest of the photography world is going forward into the digital age...I'm going backward.

I wish somebody would start a NEWS channel that I could watch.

As a sidenote, if you happen to be looking for the "Flash Speed Control" information in your Nikon D40 manual...it's not there.

You have to hold down your "Flash On" button for a few seconds, then the menu appears.

I believe that I have lost a TEA Party follower, of my blog, because of my positive Obama post.

People have a tendency to put me in a box, and it just never works out.

It causes people to step back, at the TEA Party rallys, when I tell them that this is all Bush's fault for pressing the bailout through, against the will of the people. They get wiggy, when I tell them that I believe that Obama would have never even considered an $837 BILLION dollar plan, if Bush had just done his fucking job. They walk away, when I smirk at their "Socialism" outcries, because there is NO FUCKING WAY that this country will turn Socialist without more deaths than the civil war (620,000).

Do you really think that the doctor, who is pulling in $10 million a year is just going to say, "Yes sir, mr prez, I'll just go ahead and take $10 thousand a year instead." ?

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN !

Like the disclaimer says; I am a proud TEA Party member, and supporter, but I do not follow all of the particular beliefs of the TEA Party, but I will savagely defend the TEA Party. I will also savagely defend my friends, who choose to be socialists...or communists...or nudists (especially the nudists)...or hedonists...or stoner-ists. And, kiddies, that's what freedom is all about.

Marvelous.

I was saddened by the assholes who put their own belief systems above the happiness of the kids graduating, and shouted inaudable crap from the bleachers.

I was darn proud of good ol' ND.

Some of the protesters outside were fine, decent folks expressing their right to free speech.

...others apparently believe that a right to free speech means a right to bullshit like a car salesman, and get some of that 'on air' time that they have been dying to receive.

I don't even think that Alan Keys is Catholic.
